CenterStage at Osbourn High School
Two years after their last competition, the Osbourn High School premier show choir and band, CenterStage, returned to the competition stage for the Commonwealth Choral Invitational held at Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia, on Feb. 26, 2022.manchesterchoirs.org/. The award-winning choir program members in Manassas are active ambassadors for Osbourn High School throughout the City of Manassas and Prince William County through performances at local events, venues and for community organizations. The program relies on community performance stipends, fundraisers and donations to the Osbourn Choral Boosters to support the extra costs of competitions and costuming. Performing their “Find A Way” program, this talented group on 15 singers/dancers under the direction of Angela Easley, and 16 band members under the direction of Andrew Wassum, brought home the awards for Best Show Choir in Division 3A, Best Show Band, Best Vocal Quality and Best Showmanship. CenterStage’s next competition is Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Koste Classic held at Manchester High School in Midlothian, Virginia. The Virginia Music Educators Association's (VMEA) Blue Ribbon Award recognizes school Performing Arts programs that achieve excellence in Band, Orchestra, and Choral Performance. All disciplines in a single school must receive a rating of "Superior" at assessments to qualify for the award.
